  100.      BATTLE CHARGE is a DOS based two-player strategy game requiring an
  101.      80286 or later series CPU, 300K of free RAM, VGA color graphics,
  102.      and a Microsoft compatible mouse and DOS resident mouse driver.

  104.      BTC.EXE and BTCPCS.DAT are the only essential files. The execut-
  105.      able will run from either a floppy disk or hard drive. BTCPCS.DAT,
  106.      which contains graphic image data, must accompany BTC.EXE in the
  107.      same directory. A variety of sample board files with the extension
  108.      .BTC are also included; these can be opened from within the game.
  109.      REGISTER.DOC is the program registration form. It may be opened and
  110.      printed using any text editor.

  112.      When BTC.EXE is started, the user enters a character based shell
  113.      with two menus: »File« and »Game«. The menu items under »File«
  114.      enable you to open a board file, save a game in progress, or exit
  115.      the program. Under the »Game« menu, selecting the item »Play«
  116.      begins a new game or returns to the one in progress, and selecting
  117.      the item »Help« provides a detailed set of directions and
  118.      registration/copyright information.

  120.      Note: If you run BATTLE CHARGE from MS Windows 3.x and find that
  121.      you lose your mouse cursor, you must add a statement to your
  122.      AUTOEXEC.BAT file to load the MOUSE.COM driver from your Windows
  123.      directory. For a directory named WINDOWS on drive C, the statement
  124.      would be:

  128.      Comment out any other mouse drivers in AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS

  132.      BATTLE CHARGE is an abstract board game whose basic properties
  133.      (piece selection, motion, etc.) are physically intuitive. But due
  134.      to the variety of interactions between pieces and some other
  135.      essential details, it is important to read the directions carefully
  136.      and demonstrate the range of possibilities for yourself by
  137.      running through situations on the fully editable game board.

  139.      A few of the game properties such as the number of pieces on the
  140.      board, the initial board configuration, and the number of pieces
  141.      moved during a turn have been left open. See the section
  142.      RECOMMENDED PLAY in the »Help« window, which outlines a recommended
  143.      play scheme.
